Gratitude Day

“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation of all abundance” – Eckhart Tolle (*1948, German author).

Appreciating and being grateful for the people, beings and material objects in our lives. This is a significant influencing factor for a happy and fulfilled life. But what exactly is gratitude, how does it show up in our everyday life and how do we manage to live it out more intensively?

We at SailyGroup have been exploring these questions over the past few days on the occasion of this year’s Gratitude Week.

In the form of a team meeting, various conclusions were gathered, which are presented in the following.

The word gratitude defines itself with a state of recognizing and appreciating that someone or something triggers a positive feeling in you. This ability to be grateful influences, partly subconsciously, the way we live and interact with our environment.

Nowadays we face new challenges every day and are surrounded by a fast-paced world, full of changes and growth. Therefore, it sometimes seems difficult to focus on certain moments and not get lost in many different things.

But especially in stressful times, it is essential to reflect on certain actions and perceive them as positive. Not only in the working world, but also in private life, it is important to look back on the happy, successful or relaxed moments in order to find strength and motivation for the future.

For this reason, we came up with a small activity that we will now carry out on a weekly basis. In our last team meeting, the entirety of our employees wrote down one thing per person for which we are grateful during our daily work at SailyGroup.

This resulted in about 30 pieces of paper with grateful, appreciative words.

At the beginning of each week, the content of a note is now always shared in our group chat on Slack so that we can start the new week with an optimistic mindset.

Another simple way to bring more gratitude into your life is by keeping a diary in which you only write down the positive moments in your life. In short sentences at best, valuable experiences, kind gestures from people around you or moments of happiness with yourself can be described there.

But in general, of course, there is no magic formula for bringing more gratitude into your life. However, you will face your environment quite differently if you focus on the positive and cherish even the smallest moments.
